Umbrellas with folding arm system
The dignified neoclassical facade of the Hôtel d’Angleterre (now the Angleterre & Résidence) towers over the Place du Port in Lausanne’s old port district of Ouchy. The famous luxury hotel benefits directly from its quayside location overlooking Lake Geneva. As part of a general refurbishment, SL Rasch installed four minimalist, funnel-shaped umbrellas with a folding arm system to provide shading for the terrace. Designed to harmonise with the traditional appearance of the hotel, the umbrellas are slightly different heights and overlap to create a retractable rainproof roof.
